If you take the patience to disassemble the Oculus Rift, you will find beside some cables and sensors a phone that acts as a display. Would not it be possible to build a Oculus Rift with your phone?

The team from Trinus VR had the same idea. Put your smart phone into your cardboard, connect it with a USB cable (wifi possible), launch the Trinus VR app on PC and phone and you will see your PC screen content on your phone. Movements of your head will be recognized by the phone and transferred back to the PC. Amazing!

That way I was able to watch the movie man of steel (Superman) in 3D sitting with my POP! CARDBOARD and headphones in the train. Games, even if not specially developed for virtual reality, can also be played. However, additional software such as TriDef 3D is required to render the game side by side.
